We are incredibly lucky to have many talented trainers who run our Blue Bench Trainings across the country.
Read on to learn more about Ibie and what makes her such a fantastic trainer!
How did you start in politics?
In law school, I wrote legislation with Senator Lightford.
When I had to work that bill in Springfield and talk to stakeholders for the vote, I instantly fell in love with the whole process. After that, I became the chair for a mass incarceration task force working on bail reform. That’s where I learned what it was like to be on the grassroots side of politics.
My first political job was as a youth organizer at Common Cause, then I became the state outreach and engagement manager running all their money in politics campaigns.
Today, I am chief of Staff for State Senator Robert Peters and I am honored to still be organizing in the role.
