About the event
How do you do fellow teens? But really… do you consider yourself Gen Z or a Zillennial? Are you inspired by young people who have run for office and won? Then you won’t want to miss this special edition of our So You Want to Run for Office virtual live training specifically for Zoomers and young millennials interested in getting involved in politics.
In the U.S. Senate alone, 23 senators are over the age of 70, with only one younger than 40. Looking up and down ballots across the country, it can seem like elected office is a job reserved for older folks.
But that doesn’t have to be our reality. By getting younger folks involved in running for office, you can have a say in the issues that are paramount to your generation: climate change, economic equality, housing, and more.
Join NDTC Trainer and Run for Something Midwest Regional Director Kandice Harris on April 25 as they review the ins and outs of making this big decision, along with unique challenges and opportunities you’ll face as a young leader. Manifest your success!
You will learn the following in this training:
- Understand the steps necessary to run for office
- Explain best practices for choosing which office to run for
- Identify what support you’ll need from your team
- Prepare for sharing your decision to run with friends and family
Please note that each “So You Want to Run for Office?” training is limited capacity to increase opportunities for discussion and participation. If this session is full or doesn’t fit your schedule, you can find a list of upcoming sessions HERE.
A recommended (but not required) (course) for this training is So You Think You Want To Run?
