About the event

Last So You Want to Run for Office of 2022!

Join the National Democratic Training Committee on Wednesday, December 7th for a special So You Want to Run for Office all about running in a school board race.

Unfortunately since the rise of Republican misinformation surrounding school curriculum and LGBTQIA+ student rights, they’ve poured millions into school board races across the country.

We need to build the bench of progressives dedicated to ensuring our schools are remain safe and empowering places for all children.

For the first time ever, we’re offering a So You Want to Run for Office training all about the unique challenges and considerations of running for school board.

Designed for prospective and early-stage candidates running for office, we will walk you through the ins and outs of making the decision to run for school board, and what this position entails.

You will learn the following in this training:

  • Understand the steps necessary to run for office
  • Explain best practices for choosing whether to run
  • Identify what support you’ll need from your team
  • Prepare for sharing your decision to run with friends and family

Please note that each So You Want to Run for Office training is limited capacity to increase opportunities for discussion and participation. If this session is full or doesn’t fit your schedule, you can find a list of upcoming sessions HERE.
