About the event

At NDTC, we understand the importance of education and its lasting positive impact – from our communities, to the future of our country. As a teacher, you entered this field with a desire to help educate, empower, and equip those in your community…

…but did you know that your skills and passions as a teacher directly translate into elected office? From school board, to city council, to Congress, these elected offices can (and do!) benefit from the input of educators!

Join this special edition of our So You Want to Run for Office for teachers considering making the transition from education to politics. NDTC Trainer will walk you through the possible offices to run for, how to prepare to make this big decision, and even how to break the news to friends and family.

You will learn the following in this training:

  • Understand the steps necessary to run for office
  • Explain best practices for choosing which office to run for
  • Identify what support you’ll need from your team
  • Prepare for sharing your decision to run with friends and family

Please note that each “So You Want to Run for Office?” training is limited capacity to increase opportunities for discussion and participation. If this session is full or doesn’t fit your schedule, you can find a list of upcoming sessions HERE.

A recommended (but not required) (course) for this training is So You Think You Want To Run?

This is a security measure we’ve added – all you need to do is sign in to a free Zoom account (this is different from your traindemocrats.org account). For more information on how to set up your Zoom account, please click here.

NDTC will record this event: by attending, you give NDTC permission to take photographs and record videos including me at this event, and to use them for its internal and external purposes.
