Train-the-Trainer: Successful Training in a Virtual World
April 14, 2020
About the event
Join the National Democratic Training Committee on April 14 from 1:00-2:00pm EST for a free virtual live training on “Successful Training in a Virtual World.” Have you just moved your training programs from an in-person to a virtual environment? Do your trainers need to be trained on virtual facilitation? Have you been wanting to level up and increase your skillset as a virtual trainer? The more confident and comfortable a trainer is, the more your trainees will gain from a training experience.
During this train-the-trainer session, you will experience and dissect effective practices for virtual facilitation, understand effective community-based learning strategies, and evaluate how to maintain energy and presence during virtual live trainings. An email with directions and login information will be sent prior the virtual live training.
Our trainer is Rachel Adams, who works with our NDTC Live Training team to train our trainers in the virtual training space. Rachel has been teaching hybrid (online and face-to-face) courses in rhetoric and composition, with a focus on digital and visual rhetorics, since 2012. Since 2018, she has also led online workshops and courses for small business owners and nonprofits shifting to entirely virtual workspaces.
A recommended (not required) resource to read before this virtual live training is the “Effective Practices for Virtual Training” blog post, also written by Rachel.

We will be using Zoom for this webinar, and please test out using Zoom prior to this meeting. We encourage downloading the app version (instead of viewing directly in your web browser) so that you can fully participate in any breakout groups.
