NDTC Live Trainings: March Madness for the Blue Wave

Reading Time: 3 minutes

March Madness isn’t only about basketball — this month, NDTC Live Trainings saw some of its biggest turnouts yet!

Throughout the month of March, trainees from across the country came together to learn how to run strategic campaigns.

So, as we head toward November, we know the #BlueWave is coming! We are seeing it in cities across the country!

This month saw trainings in Kansas, Iowa, West Virginia, North Dakota, and Maryland.

Further, it was our first time in four of the five states. Also, we were able to be part of two state conventions!

As our live training program continues to grow, we are thrilled to have ActBlue as our partners. Together we brought training to over 500 new people throughout the month of March.

Throughout the month of March, NDTC’s new class of talented live trainers took the lead on making sure each training went off without a hitch. Interested in learning more about these all stars? Check out our recent Trainer Spotlight!

Kansas Democrats Know How to Win

At the Kansas Democratic Party’s annual Washington Days convention, hundreds of Democrats assembled to discuss party business, hear from their gubernatorial candidates, and #GetTrained!

On Friday evening, NDTC trainers facilitated sessions on fundraising, field, and Get Out The Vote to a room full of enthusiastic trainees! We can’t wait to train with the Kansas Democratic Party again next year!

At NDTC’s first training of its kind in Iowa, over 70 fired up volunteers, activists, and candidates gathered to learn the fundamentals of running effective campaigns. Together, they focused in on fundraising, field, digital, and messaging.

In addition, at this training, NDTC was joined by AFSCME-Iowa Political Director, Morgan Miller, who shared updates on union organizing in the state and the importance of building strategic, people focused campaigns.

No Stopping North Dakota Democrats

Each year, the North Dakota Democratic-NPL hosts their state convention, and this year we were thrilled to join them in Grand Forks!

So, training in North Dakota, an infamously red state, was one of the highlights of the month!

North Dakotans were fired up and ready to learn how they can best apply campaign fundamentals to their districts at home. As a result, the event brought many first time candidates and volunteers to the forefront. We can’t wait to see what they do!
