Meet Our Trainers

Austen is a native North Carolinian with a background in counseling, childcare, and education.

Austen served as Executive Director of Wake County Democratic Party from 2014 to 2018. She directed the federalized county party to facilitate Senator Kay Hagan’s statewide coordinated campaign while overseeing the More with Four Campaign to flip the Wake County Commission to a 7-0 Democratic majority. In 2016, Austen led Wake County Democrats to historic voter turnout of 75.33% which provided 19,000 more votes for Governor Roy Cooper than any other county in NC.

Austen offers general consulting services and trainings to elected officials, campaigns, and nonprofits. In her free time, Austen enjoys NYT crossword puzzles, cooking for friends, and trying to convince everyone to buy an espresso machine.
