Meet Our Trainers

Marty is a partner in the Democratic political consulting firm Stones’ Phones.
Marty did five election cycles with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. He was the finance director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. And he knows what it is to be a candidate, he ran for Congress in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
He served as a lobbyist for Environmental Action and for Americans for Democratic Action. On a pro-bono basis, Marty has worked with the National Democratic Institute in Bosnia, Croatia, and Azerbaijan.
He is the proud father of Stella Quincy Stone, a 10th grader. If campaigning gets into her blood, it won’t be a surprise. Marty’s grandmother, Lillian, was a suffragette and his mother, Nikki, now in her 80’s, still runs local races (and wins).
A Californian and a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Marty can’t figure out how he has spent most of his life in Washington DC!
