Meet Our Trainers

Matthew Hatfield is currently working as a Deputy Organizing Director during the 2020 presidential primaries as well as a regional organizing coordinator for Swing Left. Matthew has experience with both issue advocacy campaigns as well as electoral campaigns, where he has worked for youth organizing initiatives, successful state legislative races, as well as coordinated state-wide campaigns to elect candidates from the top to the bottom of the ballot. He has a passion for building strong volunteer teams, rural organizing, as well as building a strong sense of community within the organizing teams that he has worked on. He is currently living in Richmond, Virginia, and in his downtime away from politics, enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and the occasional long walk on the beach.
